• Question: why is mercury liquid at room temperature?

      Ah- more a chemistry question (please don’t be confused when I’m talking about Mercury the planet in my profile!). The element Mercury has a lower melting point than most metals, which just means that the atoms inside it don’t need as much heat to start sliding around past each other .
