We build space instruments (like cameras that sense heat, for example) or bits of space instruments. These have so far been as far as the planet Saturn or into Earth orbit.

We help design them and make parts of them in our workshop at the university. We also test that they can survive being launched and work in space (see my profile picture for one the machines we use to do this).

We build instruments for spacecraft, and build terrestrial robots to test instruments, software and operations for space robots.

We build the spacecraft and all the systems that the instruments need to work in space. This is things like the structure, orbit design, power, thermal control, telecommunication systems, propulsion to move it in space. I work in all these areas as my job is to get them to work together and to make sure we give the instruments the right Spacecraft and get their science back to earth!
