We mainly work on the science instruments that do specific experiments like measure the temperature of a planet’s atmosphere or surface from orbit or on its surface.

Our group is currently helping to builda seismometer (Earth quake detector) that is due to go to Mars in 2016 as part of NASA’s InSight lander mission. I’ve been helping out with designing the equipment we use to test the instrument and a little bit of the electronics.

For some more info on InSight have a look at:http://insight.jpl.nasa.gov/home.cfm check out the animation of the robotic arm putting the equipment on the surface!
