Inventing things to solve a problem, designing it and then seeing if the idea worked.

I like how it’s changed how I look at things, I used to take for granted that I could get on a jet and fly across the ocean, but now the plane is an amazingly interesting thing, a huge machine filled with people, luggage and fuel with so many systems on it, that people like me designed, built and tested until it is safe enough for ‘the general public’ to get on and travel. Cars, trains, planes, power plants, satellites, the sky really isn’t the limit!

Designing buildable things from an idea, and the ability to approach and solve problems logically. That applies to everyday life too, general problem solving skills means you can generally think calmly and search for solutions when faced with an unexpected problem.
