  It can be hard, because like most places we have high expectations for our students and staff, but I am also very lucky to work with smart, motivated colleagues and students which certainly makes it fun and rewarding. If you have an idea you can quickly ask around people to see if it is any good and worth pursuing.
  
  This is true of most universities, especially ones where there is lots of research going on.
