Question: how do starlight's send direct messages to earth

I think you mean satellites- they have an antenna (either a dish or one like a car radio antenna) which we control to always be pointed at the earth. It then has processors on board which turn computer information into a code which can be sent by radio waves by these antennas, down to earth. They have to be very powerful as the sat illite can be very far away- the telecoms ones are 36000km away!
